Under the guidance of our Collector Mr. V Vishnu, Nellai Neervalam and EGG Foundation organized ”NATURE WALK”. We also had the opportunity to participate in this event.
Our district is blessed with many natural waterfalls and streams. To ensure safety and maintain a clean and green nature and also to create awareness regarding our perennial River Tamirabarani, this special “Nature Walk” was started by our Sub Collector Mr. Rishab. Many schools in and around Tirunelveli participated in this event. This Nature walk was conducted in Gopalasamudram, Check dam in Suthamali, Thirupudai Marudu, and the water streams in Kalidaikurichi. MPS students visited the river beds in Gopalasamudram and studied many plants and trees growing along the river beds. They also learned how the water is being preserved and used for irrigation.
Storytelling was the highlight of the event. Students were excited to know about Palm tree uses. They were asked to collect leaves along their walk, and were given practice to learn the art of Cyanotype printing with those leaves. Our students were super excited and thrilled and at the end of the day, they returned back with tons of information.
