πΏπ¦ Field Trip to Koonthankulam Bird Sanctuary & Earkai Plants Nursery π±β¨
Learning goes beyond the classroom at Muthamil Public School! π
Our students had an enriching educational field trip to Koonthankulam Bird Sanctuary and Earkai Plants Nursery, Ittedi, where they experienced the beauty of nature and the importance of environmental conservation.
At Koonthankulam Bird Sanctuary, the students were thrilled to observe magnificent Painted Storks, Pelicans, and several other bird species in their natural habitat. A memorable interactive session was led by Mr. Paul Pandi, popularly known as the Bird Man of Koonthankulam, who shared the inspiring story of the sanctuary, the migratory birds that visit from different countries, and his lifelong dedication to bird conservation. His engaging talk, personal experiences, and beautiful song made the session truly unforgettable.
Students also explored the sanctuary using binoculars, received informative pamphlets, and enjoyed lunch amidst the peaceful surroundings of nature.
The journey continued to Earkai Plants Nursery, where students learned about ornamental plants, coconut saplings, soil varieties, and sustainable plant cultivation. As a wonderful takeaway, every student received a complimentary sapling and a packet of seeds, encouraging them to become young environmental ambassadors.
This educational excursion strengthened our students' understanding of biodiversity, bird conservation, sustainable agriculture, and environmental responsibility, leaving them with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for nature.
