KMTR Forest Camp – Learning Beyond Classrooms
At Muthamil Public School, we believe that education goes beyond textbooks—and the KMTR Forest Camp held on 20th & 21st July 2025 was a perfect example of this.
We took our students on a two-day experiential learning journey into the heart of Kalakad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve (KMTR) to help them:
🌿 Understand biodiversity and wildlife conservation
🧠 Learn about tribal life, herbal medicine, and traditional knowledge
🐾 Explore the forest ecosystem through trekking and hands-on observation
🌎 Develop environmental responsibility and connect with nature deeply
Every session was thoughtfully designed with expert guidance from ATREE (Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment). Our students interacted with scientists, forest staff, and tribal communities—gaining life lessons that no classroom alone could offer.
🙏 Our Gratitude
We extend our heartfelt thanks to:
✔️ Mr. Kalyani (Forest Ranger) and team for making the camp safe and enriching
✔️ Mr. Ashok Kumar (Forest Guard) for his engaging educational inputs
✔️ The ATREE Resource Team, especially Mr. Mariya Antony and Mr. Ganesh , for their passionate sessions
✔️ The School Management for supporting and enabling such valuable real-world learning opportunities
This camp has planted seeds of awareness, compassion, and curiosity in every student—nurturing them to grow into environmentally responsible citizens.
