International Yoga Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Muthamil Public School
Tirunelveli, June 18, 2026: Muthamil Public School celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with great enthusiasm, promoting the importance of yoga in fostering physical fitness, mental well-being, and holistic development among students.
The celebration witnessed active participation from students across all grades. Students of Grades I and II performed various yoga asanas, including Utkatasana (Chair Pose), Trikonasana (Triangle Pose), Butterfly Pose (Baddha Konasana), and Parvatasana (Mountain Pose), showcasing their flexibility, balance, and concentration.
Students of Grades III to V demonstrated a variety of yoga postures, reflecting their dedication and understanding of the benefits of yoga. Adding to the grandeur of the event, students of Grades VI to VIII presented an impressive Yoga Dance Performance, incorporating a sequence of asanas such as Natarajasana, Virabhadrasana, Janu Sirsasana, Navasana, Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana, Raja Kapotasana, Vatayanasana, and Pranayama. Their synchronized movements beautifully highlighted the harmony between mind and body.
The programme was graced by distinguished chief guests Dr. G. Devi Priya, Naturopathy and Yoga Practitioner, and Dr. K. Prisha, renowned Yoga Prodigy, Multi-Record Holder, and Youngest Yoga Guru. In their inspiring addresses, they emphasized the significance of practicing yoga regularly to achieve a healthy lifestyle, improved concentration, and inner peace.
A special attraction of the event was the remarkable demonstration by Dr. K. Prisha, who showcased advanced yoga techniques and conducted unique blindfold activities. Her ability to accurately imitate students' actions while blindfolded left the audience amazed and highlighted the extraordinary power of focus, awareness, and practice.
The occasion was also graced by Chairman Mr. Amaravel Babu and Correspondent Mrs. Jeyanthi Babu, who encouraged students to embrace yoga as an integral part of their daily routine and lead healthy, disciplined lives.
The celebration concluded on a positive note, inspiring students to adopt yoga as a lifelong practice for physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
The event was organized under the guidance of Principal Mrs. Mary Rani, with the dedicated support of teachers, Physical Education Teachers, Yoga Master Mr. Sriramakrishnan, Manager Mr. Wildred Robin, and PRO Mr. Raja Jeevanesan.
