ποΈ Social Club β Heritage Exploration Visit π
Our Social Club members embarked on a fascinating educational journey to explore the rich heritage of our region.
Our first stop was the Gangaikondan Kailasanatha Thirukkoyil, a magnificent temple built around 1200 years ago, renowned for its stunning sculptures and intricate architecture. Students were amazed by the artistry and took keen interest in observing and interpreting the Kalvettus (stone inscriptions).
Next, we visited Antichiparai, where we explored an unfinished cave temple, a site that carries the mystery of ancient craftsmanship left incomplete.
We then moved to Samana Padukai, a rocky hill once used by Jain monks for meditation and rest β offering a glimpse into the spiritual history of our land.
Finally, the trip concluded at the Marudur Dam, where students enjoyed a peaceful lunch amidst natureβs beauty β a perfect way to end a day filled with learning, discovery, and appreciation of our cultural heritage.
